Singaporeans in Lion Air jet crash are safe

The Singaporeans involved in Saturday's Lion Air jet crash in Bali are safe, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said.

"MFA has verified that the Singaporeans involved in the plane accident in Bali are safe and well," a MFA spokesman said on Sunday.

A Lion Air Boeing 737-800 plane crashed into the shallow sea off Bali and snapped in two after it missed the runway at the Ngurah Rai International Airport on Saturday.

All 108 on board survived.

Reports said that at least two Singaporeans were on board and suffered only minor injuries.
