Singaporean Sophia Ng is studying at the Savannah College of Art & Design in Georgia in the United States, and relies on The Straits Times' Facebook to keep in touch with news back home.

Ms Ng, 20, became the 200,000th person to "like" the ST Facebook page on Wednesday. For helping us hit that milestone, she gets a free three-month digital subscription to the paper.

Ms Ng, who counts watching anime, cooking and playing with her guinea pig among her hobbies, said she likes how the ST Facebook page is frequently updated. She is most keen on articles about social issues in Singapore.

She added that she appreciates that ST "provides diverse news about Singapore and Asia, as well as international news", and added that she hopes to see more news on the Republic's art and culture.
