Singapore and Albania reaffirm good relations during minister's visit

SINGAPORE - Albania's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Ditmir Bushati, who is on an official visit to Singapore, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Monday.

They reaffirmed the good relations between both countries and exchanged views on the development experiences of the two countries, Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Monday.

Mr Bushati also met his Singapore counterpart, Mr K Shanmugam, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The two Foreign Ministers signed an Open Skies Agreement (OSA) between Singapore and Albania. Under the agreement, designated airlines will be able to fly between Singapore and Albania, via and beyond to any third country, without restrictions in capacity, frequency or aircraft type. Singapore has concluded Air Services Agreements with more than 130 states and territories, including more than 60 OSAs.

Mr Bushati will call on Speaker of Parliament Halimah Yacob and be hosted to an official lunch by Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs and Second Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Grace Fu on Tuesday before leaving Singapore.
