A new roundabout is among the new road features that have been built to encourage motorists to travel at slower speeds under a new Silver Zone in Lengkok Bahru. It was opened by the Member of Parliament and grassroots adviser to Tanjong Pagar GRC, Dr Chia Shi-Lu, yesterday. The Silver Zone programme, implemented by the Land Transport Authority, involves installing senior-friendly road-safety features in residential areas with significant numbers of older people. A total of seven Silver Zones have been completed since the scheme was announced in 2014, with another eight to be completed by next year. Other road-safety features in the Lengkok Bahru area include reduced lane widths.
