Sentosa Harbourfront Business Association holds first job fair for ITE students

The Sentosa HarbourFront Business Association (SHBA) held its first career fair for Institute of Technical Education students on Friday.

It brought together 16 employers from the Sentosa Harbourfront precinct, at the fair at ITE College West in Choa Chu Kang.

More than 1,000 job openings were on offer, with positions in areas ranging from hotel front office and food and beverage operations to retail merchandising.

About 400 ITE students attended the fair, which also featured a segment where employers told students about career prospects available in tourism and hospitality; and a dialogue session with ITE graduates currently working in the area.

Among the organisations present were hotel groups like Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa, Moevenpick Heritage Hotel Sentosa and tourist attractions such as Sentosa 4D AdventureLand.

The business association, which was launched in December last year, has more than 30 members including Resorts World Sentosa and the Singapore Cruise Centre.

Mr Goh Chye Boon, the association's chairman, said :"We hope jobseekers who are keen to pursue a career in tourism and hospitality will join us as we grow and realise the potential of the precinct."
