Senior Counsel Lok Vi Ming has been re-elected president of the Law Society for a second year term, the society said in a statement on Wednesday.

The society also announced that Senior Counsel Thio Shen Yi and Mr Kelvin Wong, will be vice-presidents on next year's council. The former is also a re-appointment.

Mr Lok said in a statement that he was "honoured" to be re-elected. "The task is a challenging one, but I am encouraged and fortified by the knowledge that the men and women who will be serving with me on Council are a great bunch of committed and talented lawyers who are passionate for the Profession," he said.

Other members in the 21-strong council include Mr Gregory Vijayendran, Ms Rachel Eng and Mr Paul Tan. The society is a self-regulatory body for some 4,500 practising lawyers in Singapore.
