Seeds of Hope germinate at Singapore Boys' Hostel

Telco operator StarHub have sponsored a $50,000 community garden at the Singapore Boy's Hostel on McNair Road.

The garden called Seeds of Hope Edible Garden officially opened on Monday and is part of the National Parks Board's Community in Bloom programme

Residents at the Boys' Hostel will plant various edible plants such as limes, chillies, guavas and starfruit. They will get to eat the produce or give them to their families or donate them to the Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital. The hostel is a residence for boys aged 13 to 16 who require supervision.

The garden is one of many initiatives that commemorate the National Parks Board's 50 Years of Greening Singapore campaign, which celebrates Singapore's efforts to maintain and expand its green spaces.
