SINGAPORE - Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Masagos Zulkifli will visit the Republic of Angola and the Republic of Mozambique from June 1 to 5, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a statement on Sunday.
Mr Masagos will meet political leaders, senior government officials and business leaders in both African countries to discuss bilateral cooperation and business opportunities.
"Minister Masagos' visit is part of a series of ministerial-level visits from Singapore to Sub-Saharan Africa to signal our growing political and economic relations with the region, and to explore new markets for Singapore companies," said the MFA. Angola and Mozambique are two of the fastest growing economies in southern Africa.
Mr Masagos, who is also Second Minister for Home Affairs and Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, will give opening remarks at two business forums organised by the Singapore Business Federation in the Angolan capital of Luanda as well as in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique.
He is accompanied on his trip by a business delegation with representatives from 13 Singapore companies.
Also accompanying him are officials from the MFA, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and International Enterprise Singapore.
