Minister for Education (Schools) and Second Minister for Transport Ng Chee Meng took to the futsal pitch in the name of charity yesterday afternoon.

The "Score For A Cause" event held at the Offside Futsal Park @ Thomson Flyover raised a total of $114,797.

The money was donated to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF).

Also taking part in the game were STSPMF beneficiaries, taxi drivers, and representatives from the National Taxi Association, Ministry of Transport, Land Transport Authority and Public Transport Council. Ex-national football player Lim Tong Hai and F-17 Football Academy coach Habil Hakim laced up their boots for the event as well.

The proceeds from the event will go towards supporting more than 11,000 children and young people from low-income families.
