The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) will sound the "Important Message" signal on Feb 15 at 12.05pm through its island-wide network of Public Warning System (PWS) sirens.

It will last for a minute and an important message will be broadcasted immediately on all local radio stations. Members of the public are advised not to be alarmed by the annual exercise done in support of Total Defence Day.

In a statement on Wednesday morning, SCDF said the exercise is part of its efforts to familiarise the public with the three signals.
