SCDF app allows members of public to report fire hazards and suspected fire violations

A free Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) application for iPhones will allow members of the public who spot fire hazards and suspected fire violations to submit photos and a brief description to the SCDF.

The smartphone app, mySCDF, was announced at this year's SCDF Workplan Seminar held on Friday at Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College East.

Individuals who have submitted photos on the app can also monitor the status of their submissions. A separate module on the application will share fire safety tips on what to do when a fire breaks out and how to operate a fire extinguisher.

SCDF is also looking into expanding the application to include a feature that matches locations where Automated External Defibrillators are available to volunteers in the area who are trained to use them.

The mySCDF application can be downloaded for free from the Apple application store.
