SAF regular found dead in camp

A 20-year-old army regular was found dead in a toilet at Sembawang Camp at around 3.10pm yesterday.

The serviceman was Specialist Cadet Trainee S. Pravinraj, a supply supervisor trainee, according to a statement released last night by the Ministry of Defence. He had been on guard duty in the camp.

Police, who are investigating the incident, said they received a call for assistance at 2.49pm. The serviceman was found lying motionless and was subsequently pronounced dead by Singapore Civil Defence Force paramedics.

Mindef and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) are assisting the family.
