Road closures at Padang as SCDF conducts exercises

SINGAPORE - Roads around the Padang will be temporarily closed on two days as the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) conducts operational exercises in the area.

The exercises will be held from 1.30am to around 3.30am on Thursday, July 23, and Wednesday, July 29, and will involve about 350 people and 40 vehicles.

They are part of the SCDF's "ongoing efforts to validate and update operational plans and procedures". The public is advised not to be alarmed.

The three left lanes of St Andrew's Road (between Parliament Place and Coleman Street) and the two left lanes of Connaught Drive (between bus stop 02011 and Parliament Place) will be closed for the duration of both exercises.

The entirety of Connaught Drive (between Stamford Road and Fullerton Road) will be closed during the July 29 exercise.
