SINGAPORE - DBS will launch a new website on Wednesday with new features that deliver customised content to online banking customers.

It will let all 2.2 million online banking customers create quick links to the services they use most often. High net worth customers will also be able to do live chats with the bank's staff to ask for fee waivers or about new products.

In the next few months, the bank will also display online banner advertisements that market products relevant to customers. For instance, if a customer constantly pays his power or telco bills online, DBS could display an advertisement marketing credit cards that gives that best discounts or rebates.

DBS wants to move as much as possible of its non-transactional services, such as account opening or balance enquiry, to its website.

Said Mr Louis Foo, head of its e-business unit in Singapore:"The branch can focus more on sophisticated conversations like investment and retirement planning, on top of just providing basic transaction services like balance enquiry and transfers."

The revamp is also part of plans to convert more of the bank's 4.6 million banking customers to online users. It has 2.2 million online banking customers and 1 million mobile banking users.
