Residents in Yishun block affected by 4-hour blackout

SINGAPORE- Some residents of Blk 394, Yishun Avenue 6, were affected by a blackout on Tuesday that lasted for about four hours.

Mr Danish Matin See told The Straits Times that the electricity supply was cut off at 10.20am, and was restored only at about 2.30pm.

He said he and his neighbours, who came out of their homes to find out what was happening, were not informed of any electricity disruption. He added that the heat was stifling, and that he was worried about his elderly father-in-law's health.

"We got a notice informing us that water supply will be disrupted tomorrow, but I don't know why our electricity got cut off. It's not right," he said.

The notice from the town council said water supply would be disrupted on Tuesday because of works to replace water main pipes on the rooftop.
