More than 1,000 people donned reindeer-ear headbands and took part in a 3km mass walk in the Marina Bay area yesterday.

The Reindeer Walk-a-Wheelathon, now in its third edition, is an annual event to help raise funds to support para-athletes.

It is organised by the Singapore Disability Sports Council. Yesterday's event was attended by Minister for Social and Family Development Tan Chuan-Jin.

Besides taking part in the walk, participants also tried out different para-sports such as sitting volleyball and wheelchair basketball.
