Rain returned to Singapore on Monday afternoon, ending a dry spell that has plagued the country for several weeks now.

The National Environment Agency's "nowcast" webpage, which tracks rainfall patterns across the island, showed rain in western Singapore including Lim Chu Kang, Jurong, Clementi, Tuas and the West Coast.

One resident in Jurong West said the downpour came in fits and starts "but was quite heavy".

The wet weather ends a streak of dry days and comes after one of Singapore's longest dry spells which took place from Jan 13 to Feb 8.
