The DesignSingapore Council will open applications for this year's DesignSingapore Scholarship on Friday.

The scholarship is open to both students and industry professionals, and can be used for undergraduate or postgraduate design studies at reputable institutions in Singapore or abroad.

Preferred fields of study include design management, digital design (interaction design/ user experience design, data visualisation, design informatics), and service design/experience design.

Introduced in 2005, the scholarship aims to groom talented individuals who have the creativity, drive and passion for design to be leaders in their fields of training, and to develop Singapore into Asia's leading hub for design excellence.

A total of 48 scholarships have been awarded over the last decade. Applications close on April 11.
