SINGAPORE - A 29-year-old woman died after being struck by a bus at Toh Tuck Avenue on Thursday (March 10) afternoon.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that the pedestrian was pronounced dead upon arrival by paramedics.
The accident happened at about 12.30pm when the victim, Ms Winny Pratiwi, was believed to be out for lunch, Lianhe Wanbao reported.
A bus driver in his 50s was arrested for causing death by rash act, police said.
It is understood that the bus was making a right turn at the traffic light when it hit Ms Pratiwi.
Ms Pratiwi's mother flew from Indonesia and arrived at the morgue on Friday morning with luggage in tow, Wanbao said.
She was sobbing inconsolably and refused to be interviewed.
