Data breaches and information security issues continued to stay in the spotlight this year, with the announcement that the public sector would be overhauling the way it manages data in all agencies, following several high-profile data security incidents.
The first few months of the year were rocked by reports of large-scale data breaches in the public sector, or involving public officers.
