Proposed alcohol ban not a deterrent, say Singaporeans

A proposed law to ban public drinking between 10.30pm and 7am may be in the works, but party goers say they will find a way around it.

"People will probably go to another area, or come back when the police go away so it's quite hard to control this area," said 19-year-old Manuella Scully.

The Liquor Control Bill, introduced in Parliament on January 19, will also bar retail shops from selling takeaway alcohol after 10.30pm.
