President Halimah Yacob spent her afternoon yesterday playing games of pick-up sticks and Connect Four with children at the Singapore Children's Society Sunbeam Place. During her visit to the home for children who were abused or neglected, the President was briefed on how the society served vulnerable children and their families. She later wrote on Facebook that she was inspired by the children's positive spirit and resilience. "I am happy that the children here are undaunted by their earlier struggles and are doing well," she said. Madam Halimah also praised Sunbeam Place for building a close-knit community and providing a strong support network for the children.
