THE premiums for purchasing a car rose across the board with those for larger cars leading the way as tenders closed on Wednesday.

The certificate of entitlement (COE) for those in the open category rose from $76,000 to $83,001 while the COE price for big cars above 1,600 cc rose from $75,000 to $81,751.

This is the highest it has been in the last three months since February this year.

COEs for smaller cars went up $2,602 to hit $69,903, while the price buyers pay to own commercial vehicles and motorcycles went up $1,012 and $11 respectively.
