SINGAPORE - Four vehicles, including a Traffic Police motorcycle, were involved in an accident while a Traffic Police officer was pursuing a male driver on Tuesday (June 6).

The 26-year-old male driver was driving dangerously along a Central Expressway slip road at 5.31pm, said the police on Wednesday. His car is believed to be a white Suzuki Swift.

The driver refused to comply with the officer's instruction and sped off, which led to a pursuit, causing the accident along the exit towards Jalan Kebun Limau. The Straits Times understands no one was injured.

In a video that was circulating online, the man was seen running away from the TP officer on foot after the accident occurred and traffic came to a standstill.

Smoke was also seen emitting from the crashed vehicles.

The man was subsequently arrested for traffic-related and suspected drug-related offences, said the police.

According to photos online, the black motorcycle involved in the accident appears to be a "stealth bike" that is part of the TP's Special Operations Team. These covert bikes were introduced last June, and are meant to allow officers to clamp down on road offenders, particularly errant motorcyclists.

Police investigations are ongoing.
