Police on Wednesday, arrested a 30-year-old man in connection to a case of outrage of modesty in a public bus.

The molest took place at about 7am on Monday and the female victim made a police report the next day.

Officers from Central Police Division followed up on the case and the man was arrested on Wednesday at about 7.50am along Jalan Toa Payoh.

Investigation is ongoing.

If convicted of outrage of modesty, he may be jailed up to two years, fined, and caned.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Daniel Tan, who is the commander of Central Police Division, advised the public to stay calm when they encounter such crimes while travelling on public transport. He added that they should call 999 at once or inform the bus or train driver immediately to report the matter.
