Police investigating online threat made on PM Lee

SINGAPORE - The police are investigating a threat made on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong via a Facebook post.

A Facebook user by the name of "GM Pheonix" posted a comment last Friday night along with a photograph of a bullet placed on what appears to be a camouflage uniform. There is also a reference to a bag left at Changi Airport.

A second post, with a picture of two bullets in a magazine, was uploaded last Saturday.

The user tagged Mr Lee's Facebook account in both posts. But the posts do not appear on PM Lee's Facebook page itself.

The Straits Times was alerted to the posts by a reader.

When contacted on Sunday, a police spokesman said: "Police confirm reports have been lodged and investigations are ongoing."
