SINGAPORE - We are one people, one nation, with one goal: To catch them all.

Since its launch on Aug 6, Pokemon Go mania has swept the island, with hunters young and old letting their fingers do the capturing of the virtual monsters on their smartphones.

Last Friday (Aug 12), The Straits Times visited three hot spots where rare Pokemons have been sighted: Marina Bay Financial Centre for Lapras, Chinese Garden for Blastoise and Gyarados, and Block 401 Hougang Avenue 10 for Snorlax.

People thronged the once-quiet sites on a quest to fill up their Pokedex, an index of all Pokemons available in the game.

Husband and wife team Khai Affendy, 32, and Jah Wigjaja, 31, were among the hundreds who turned up at Block 401 Hougang Avenue 10.

"We went to Yishun Park and Changi beach next to Changi Village hotel. By far this is the best location," said Ms Widjaja, who lives in Woodlands.
