PM Lee, US lawmakers affirm strong ties at Istana meeting

A bipartisan United States congressional delegation called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong yesterday at the Istana, where the two sides affirmed the excellent and longstanding friendship between both countries. They also discussed regional and international developments, as well as reaffirmed the importance of the US' continued engagement in the region. At the meeting with PM Lee were (from left) Congressman Jason Smith (Missouri); Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (Washington), Congressman Ted Yoho (Florida), Congressman Luis Gutierrez (Illinois), House Judiciary Committee chairman Bob Goodlatte, Congressman Hank Johnson (Georgia) and Congressman Blake Farenthold (Texas).
