Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister for Trade and Industry Mr S Iswaran hitched a ride in A*Star's self-driving car during the launch of Fusionopolis Two on October 19 2015.

The self-driving vehicle uses laser sensors and A*Star's own algorithm to ensure a safe driving experience.

In the demo, the autonomous car is shown to have the ability to detect traffic lights, stop lines and objects as small as the size of a child. It is even able to function in complete darkness.

The vehicle has been tested in urban areas, and A*Star has plans to test it on highways and in parking scenarios in the future.
