Japan may have their iconic robotic dogs Aibo and Paro, but Singapore's first robotic dog for the elderly will be called Eric. Eric, short for Elderly Rehabilitative Interactive Companion, aims to make repetitive therapy exercises less of a monotony for the elderly and also provide them with companionship in their twillight years.
This latest version - developed by Singapore Polytechnic - was piloted at Ling Kwang Home for Senior Citizens in February last year.
