A pedestrian, understood to be a foreign worker, was killed when he was hit by a car in Keppel Road yesterday. The accident happened about 10.15am near the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. The 35-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, said police. The vehicle ended up in a ditch under the Ayer Rajah Expressway. The 31-year-old driver of the car was taken to the Singapore General Hospital, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force, which sent a fire engine, a Red Rhino and two ambulances to the scene. The police are investigating.
