The PAssionArts Festival is back for the fifth year, and its launch drew some 3,000 residents to the open field beside Jurong East MRT station last night. The occasion prompted Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam to take a wefie with the crowd. With him on stage are (from left) emcee Cai Lilian; Yuhua Community Arts & Culture Club chairman Andrew Yap; People's Association deputy chief executive Lim Hock Yu; Culture, Community and Youth Minister Grace Fu; Jurong GRC MP Tan Wu Meng; and emcee Chan Kok Meng. This year, 160 facade art projects will be springing up at Housing Board blocks around the island in the lead-up to National Day. The festival will run until July 31.
