Three global "panda ambassadors" visited pandas Kai Kai and Jia Jia at the River Safari on Monday afternoon, giving free guided tours and interacting with visitors to spread the message of wildlife conservation.

Ms Erica Chen from China, Ms Melissa Katz from the United States and Mr Jerome Pouille from France were winners of last year's Chengdu Pambassador competition, which saw 1.16 million applicants from all over the world.

Since July, the winners have been on a trip to visit pandas in 14 cities and to promote conservation.

Their visit comes ahead of Panda Party Week, held from Sept 7 to 15, which celebrates Kai Kai and Jia Jia's one-year anniversary in Singapore and their birthdays.
