SINGAPORE - About 800 residents from Pasir Ris West painted murals of iconic local cuisine and attractions at the void decks of eight blocks in the constituency yesterday.

Volunteers from the residents' committees and the polytechnic joined them.

Project Paint, organised by Pasir Ris Elias Citizens' Consultative Committee, was the first of a series of activities in the constituency planned for SG50 celebrations to mark Singapore's 50th year of nationhood next year.

Yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, who is an MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, also launched the constituency's SG50 Facebook page and Instagram account for residents to share news and photos related to SG50.
