Outdoor adventure camp for special needs students during the March holidays

Some 15 students from MINDS Fernvale Gardens School started their March school holidays with a special outdoor adventure camp at East Coast on Monday.

The nine to 18-year-olds from MINDS, which helps individuals with mental disabilities, were paired up with youngsters from the Outward Bound School Youth Alumni to navigate high rope courses and dimly-lit mazes among other things.

The camp was organised by Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) and the Central Singapore Community Development Council (CDC).

Organisers said that they plan to expand the camp to a two-day programme and possibly conduct it at OBS' Pulau Ubin campus. They are also considering including other organisations which work with students with disabilities.
