Old mortar bomb found on Jurong Island safely disposed

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has removed a World War II era bomb and rounds of ammunition found on Jurong Island on Monday.

In an update on the Singapore Army Facebook page, SAF said that the SAF Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were activated on Monday evening to remove war relics found at a construction site on Jurong Island.

The post said: "A total of six relics were found; a mortar bomb, a 7.62mm round and four 0.5in rounds. The relics were moved to a safe location and were successfully disposed."
