SINGAPORE - Water agency PUB has filed a police report after notices were found pasted on doors of homes in Sengkang with a false claim that "our water source is heavily contaminated with poisonous substance".

The notices also claim that "there is unidentified gas present".

PUB said in a Facebook post on Friday (Feb 9) that it has received reports of the notices being put up at Housing Board units in Block 406B, Fernvale Road.

Other than reporting the matter to the police, PUB has also collected water samples from the block in question.

"In-situ tests show the water quality is within normal range and safe for drinking," said PUB. "The public need not be alarmed."

PUB is working closely with the police to investigate the matter.
