There was no breach of the ban imposed by the Singapore authorities on the sale and consumption of alcohol in the proclaimed areas of Little India under the Public Order (Preservation) Act the weekend after the Dec 8 riot.

The police also said in a statement on Monday morning that "no incidents" were reported in the area during the 48-hour period from 6am on Dec 14 to Dec 16.

"The Police is reviewing the longer-term measures for Little India for next weekend and beyond, taking into consideration the situation at Little India this weekend and the interests of all affected stakeholders," said the statement.

They added that more details will be announced in due course.
