Next year's Men's Health Urbanathlon to feature mystery obstacle

Participants at next year's Men's Health Urbanathlon can expect new and more difficult obstacles coming their way.

For the first time, the race will feature a mystery obstacle and five other new ones including a "wire house" where participants have to untangle themselves in a long web of bungee cords. Among others, they will also be required to climb and hoist themselves over cement pipes in next year's competition.

The 2014 edition "promises to be our toughest ever, and should provide a thrilling challenge for Singapore runners," said said Ms Pang Lee Cheng, General Manager of SPH Magazines. The event is jointly organised by SPH Magazines, HiVelocity, and presented by Scoot.

Local celebrities such as Anne Qi Hui and parathlete Mohd Shariff Abdullah, Singapore's very own "Blade Runner", will also take part in the race next year on March 2.

Early bird tickets, priced at $108 each, will be on sale till Dec 15. Each participant will also receive a race pack worth over $400, including an Adidas race T-Shirt and a complimentary six-month digital subscription to Men's Health.
