SINGAPORE - A new set of stamps featuring the four major festivals here will go on sale from Wednesday (Oct 19).

It comprises eight designs in two denominations: 1st local and 70 cents.

The four festivals - Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Deepavali and Christmas - will each get two stamps with different graphic designs.

Singapore Post said the festivals were chosen as they celebrate the "rich and diverse cultural heritage" of Singapore's multiracial society.

The stamps will be available for purchase at all post offices and the Singapore Philatelic Museum, as well as online at www.stampdelight.com.

There is also a pre-cancelled first day cover at $5 that comes affixed with the full set of eight stamps.
