New short bus services in 5 neighbourhoods to ease congestion

Five new short bus services in Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Boon Lay, Marsiling and Woodlands will be launched from the second quarter of next year. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) said a tender has been called to invite private bus operators to submit their cost proposals to operate these short bus services.

These new services will help ease congestion in these areas said the LTA on Monday, by making at least five trips per hour in peak periods of weekday mornings and evenings.

They will added on to current feeder bus services 268, 222, 240, 913 and 912.

These new Peak Period Short Services are part of the $1.1 billion Bus Service Enhancement Programme, are designed to alleviate crowding, reduce waiting times and improve reliability during peak hours.
