President Tony Tan Keng Yam yesterday officiated at the Swearing-in and Appointment Ceremony of Mr Png Cheong Boon (far right) as the Second Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Mr Lai Chung Han as the Second Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education, at the Istana. Mr Png was the chief executive officer of JTC Corporation, a position he had held since 2013, while Mr Lai stepped down as the Chief of Navy earlier this month.
