A network of Islamic religious scholars and youth groups is being formed to counsel youth and inoculate them against radical ideology. Members will also be trained to counter radicalisation and reach out to young people on social media, as part of a wider effort by the Malay/Muslim community to prevent extremism from taking root.

Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Yaacob Ibrahim announced the initiative at a Hari Raya gathering last night.
