The command of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) was handed over to Rear-Admiral (RADM) Lew Chuen Hong (right), by outgoing navy chief Lai Chung Han at RSS Singapura - Changi Naval Base yesterday morning.

RADM Lew, 41, joined the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in 1995 and was awarded the SAF Overseas Scholarship.

Prior to becoming Chief of Navy, he had been Chief of Staff - Naval Staff since last August. RADM Lai, 44, joined SAF in 1992 and served as navy chief from Aug 1, 2014.

The Defence Ministry said RADM Lai ensured that the RSN maintained a high state of operational readiness. He also led RSN to achieve mission success in both regional and international operations.
