YOU are not seeing things. This is a London bus on Singapore roads.

The British High Commission is showcasing the country's new Routemaster model, which is in the Republic for a month as part of a world tour to promote the country. Its stops over the weekend included Suntec City and the Conrad Centennial Singapore hotel.

The double-decker is a diesel-electric hybrid. It has both a diesel engine and an electric motor powered by a lithium battery pack that is recharged when the bus is cruising or braking. It is wheelchair-accessible and has two staircases.

Bus enthusiast Christopher Tan, 25, was among the first to ride the iconic vehicle here."It is more comfortable than our double-deckers here," said the restaurant manager and freelance photographer.
