New cruises to look out for

SINGAPORE - Demand for long-haul cruises have been going up. Cruise companies and travel agencies say bookings have risen by between 10 and 51 per cent year-on-year and new itineraries have been launched to meet the growing market. Here are three itineraries to look out for:

1. 86-night world cruise by CTC Travel

The cruise will depart from Shanghai on March 1, 2015. It covers more than 15 countries including the Maldives, Egypt and Japan. Prices, including airfare, start from $25,288.

2. Royal Carribean's 10-night Singapore to Tokyo cruise

Royal Carribean's Voyager of the Seas, which can carry 3,114 guests, will depart on April 15, 2015. It will dock at Nha Trang (in Vietnam), Hong Kong, Taipei and Nagasaki before ending its journey in Tokyo. Prices start at $1,431 for an interior stateroom.

3. 10-day, 7-night River Rhine cruise by Dynasty Travel (to be launched to the public in early January)

The agency has chartered a 65-cabin Uniworld river cruise that will depart on Oct 27, 2015, for a seven-night cruise down the River Rhine. The river runs through several European cities. Prices range from $6,068 to $9,168, including airfare and shore excursions.
