A four-storey Community Centre (CC) in Admiralty which features an indoor water playground was officially launched on Sunday.

Aimed at all members of the family, the 4,000 sqm Ace the Place also houses a 24-hour gym, two dance studios, a karaoke area and a multi-purpose hall, among other things.

Residents say the CC at 120 Woodlands Avenue 1 has been a long time coming. It replaces a modest void-deck space at Block 547 which served residents since 2003.

"It's more spacious and family-friendly," said housewife Jenny Ng, 40.

Sembawang GRC MP Vikram Nair said the objective of the "modern CC" is to create more opportunities for Admiralty division's 52,000 residents to gather, interact and experience "vibrant community life".

"It will hopefully evolve and grow along with Admiralty over the years ahead and will be a place at which Admiralty's families have many happy experiences and memories," he said.
