New committee to chart Singapore's infocomm and media direction

A high-level committee has been formed to chart Singapore's directions in the information technology and media industry till 2025.

The 14-member Infocomm Media Masterplan Steering Committee, chaired by Mr Koh Boon Hwee, chairman of private equity fund Credence Capital, will look into areas such as manpower and infrastructure development.

In a media statement, the Ministry of Communications and Information said the committee is expected to release its recommendations in mid-2015.

Other committee members include Mr Vinod Kumar, managing director and group chief executive officer at Tata Communications, Prof Low Teck Seng, chief executive officer of National Research Foundation and MCI Permanent Secretary Aubeck Kam.
