SINGAPORE -The command of the Singapore Air Force was handed over to Brigadier-General (BG) Mervyn Tan Wei Ming on Monday (March 28).

Outgoing Chief of Air Force Major-General Hoo Cher Mou, 50, passed the air force command symbol to BG Tan, 44, at a change of command parade at Tengah Air Base on Monday evening.

BG Tan, joined the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in 1990. He has commanded the Air Defence and Operations Command and headed the Air Plans Department in the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF).

Before taking over as RSAF chief, he was the director of military intelligence and Chief of Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I).
