New appointments for ambassador and high commissioner to Hellenic Republic and Ghana

Chairman of the Central Provident Fund Board and the board of SMRT Corporation, Mr Koh Yong Guan, has been appointed as Singapore's next ambassador to the Hellenic Republic, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement released earlier today.

Mr Dileep Nair, former ambassador to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, has been appointed as Singapore's next High Commissioner to the Republic of Ghana.

They will be resident in Singapore.

Mr Koh, also chairman of the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Cancer Sciences Institute of Singapore, served in the Ministries of Finance (Revenue Division), Education and Defence. He also held the appointments of Permanent Secretary in the Ministries of Health and National Development. He was Singapore's non-resident High Commissioner to Canada from May 2008 to March 2013.

Mr Nair was managing director of DBS Bank from 1998 to 2000. He was appointed the Under-Secretary-General of Internal Oversight Services at the United Nations from April 2000 to April 2005 and served as Consul-General in the Singapore Consulate-General in Dubai from August 2005 to May 2011.
